Hopefully, this will be the one that gets her help. This is horrid. It's like she's trying to invent a language.

That was ridiculous. She is truely one of the most talentless individuals ever to get near a microphone!

That was sad. Amy Winehouse is such an extraordinary talent. It's too bad that she is pissing it all away.

Melismatic.

The band is killer. I had to look up the lyrics after listening to it...........the funny thing is with the lyrics in front of you, you can almost understand it.

That is what happens when you give too much money to someone who already had problems before their music took off. People will forgive her, forget about it, kiss her a$$, and move on. Just like Spears. Rediculous!

You're kidding right ?
She can be a great singer and performer, just way too high most of the time. Junkiness does that.

Thumbs up

Guys,

I have to say this thread and video got me intrigued. I had heard of Amy before mostly about her "issues." I had never seen a performance. You know what, I liked it! I thought it was purposefully kitschy. The band rocks and her backup singers are working it! The bassist is even playing a Beatle bass.

Since the responses to the original clip were mostly negative I thought I would look around and see what others thought. I found this thread with a post by someone who calls himself a fanboy. He recommended several other Back to Black performance clips. A couple of these are outstanding.

Amsterdam

Joe's Pub NYC

Live

MTV House Band unplugged

Beat It! with Charlotte Church (Bassist Playing Jaco relic with pick)

Okay, maybe I have become a fanboy. She is kinda' hot, No?

In Montana they have signs over bars that say,"Before engaging your mouth, make sure your mind is in gear!"

Last edited by avid : 11-03-2007 at 11:41 AM. Reason: adding mention of bass played in Beat it!

Yep.....

I don't know what it is. But for me it's like the voice is there but the soul is not..

you are right about Sharon Jone and The Dap Kings they are so good. and Amy Winehouse - I don't know - get her straight and she might even be worse. She's got talent but she's got problems that are destroying it.

I'm not familiar with Amy but to me it seems like she was high/drunk/both as opposed to talentless.
