Anyone here a fan of this band? Heard them mentioned here today for the first time in ages in an Adam Clayton thread. I only have their first album, which I got for Christmas, though I will definately pick up their second. As if Stanley Clarke and Stewart Copeland forming a pop band together wasn't an exciting enough prospect, I find Deborah Holland to have an excellent voice and brings a really unique character to the song.

I was especially impressed by this record, I was looking forward to hearing Stan in a unique concept and hearing the talented guy from the Police lay down the drums...I wasn't expecting so many brilliant tunes and such! Any other AL fans here?

I like those records - the songwriting is good (though it's dated) and Stewart's and Stanley's playing have a lot of character, unlike a lot of other pop records that were being put out at the time with faceless studio musicians.

Yeah, the sound is dated, but I love that! I've only heard Rose Coloured Glasses from the second record but I really dig that tune too so I've high hopes for the record itself! I hear they did a hasty live record to to finish their contract...probably as rare as a clean sheet in a nursing home now!
