I downloaded and listened to your otrher songs yesterday.

The music is fine but I am having trouble with the Vocoder monotone vocals. I can see using it for a part or even a song, but as the focus of the songs just does not sit with me right. Comes off gimmicky to me.

The music seems neither here or there, just kind of plain vanilla.

Could be just me, but no replies to your last thread tell me otherwise.

I have enjoyed your last music outings though.

In art school they taught us it is better to have a really bad reaction, than no reaction at all.

Sorry for the negativity, but that's my honest opinion.

Well, thanks for checking it out, at least. I realize the vocals are polarizing for a lot of people, but it's part of our sound, and we're not looking to change it. A lot of people like it, a lot of people don't.

No, or few, replies doesn't necessarily tell me that the music is not good, or that people don't like it (as a whole). Talkbass is a wonderful website and a great resource, but it's also a bit set in its ways, in some regards. The one of the main demographs here is a much older generation, raised on blues and jazz and rock n' roll, and they don't always meet eye-to-eye with the new sounds of the younger generations (in the same way that the opposite also applies).

TB isn't my first, or only, stop in getting feedback on our sound, a lot of which has to do with the fact that our sound is not really one "those" sounds that many people here are into (i.e. not jazz or metal, largely), and that's fine. Won't stop me from continuing to put our stuff out there for perusal.

Sorry if that seems a bit long-winded, or overly defensive. I deal with a lot of the "I don't like x element, or y sound" in a lot of boards with a predominately older majority. I do appreciate your feedback, and you are right that a bad reaction is better than no reaction. I'd rather you (second person plural) be honest than to sugarcoat it. Bad press has sold lots of records for some people, haha.

I would tend to agree with that on other boards, and maybe you are right for the majority here.

But... I have discovered some of most creative broadest thinking music from here, and still are being exposed to. Maybe the majority thinks its crap, but that does not really matter to me.

Bands cool I discovered here that I can think of right at this moment-

Lightning Bolt
The Locust
Squarepusher
Jauqo III-X
Post Rock - El Ten Eleven, Tetra Fusion, LITE
Crunk-the music category
Protest The Hero
Garugamesh
Optep
Lotus
Mastodon
Meshuggah
The Models
Boris
RUINER SEVERHEAD
Demond Wilson
Plastic Tree

Close minded people are both young & old as you pointed out.
