Anthony Jackson / Chaka Khan albums

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello all,

What with Anthony Jackson appearing on the cover of this month's Bass Player magazine, just thought I'd take the opportunity to let you know I recently uploaded full transcriptions of his work on Chaka Khan's seminal "Naughty" and "What Cha' Gonna Do For Me" albums.

As most folks probably know, these two albums are generally considered among his finest work and contain many insights into his style and harmonic approach. And, if you've ever wondered why there's slapping and popping on tracks that credit the vehemently anti-slap/pop Jackson, these transcriptions could finally put your mind at rest...

PDFs of these 15 songs—along with several other non Chaka-related items—can be found on the transcriptions page at:

http://www.stevieglasgow.com

Hope you find them useful,

Stevie

p.s. The reason I didn't post in the "Tablature" forum is that all my transcriptions are NOTATION ONLY.

Wow...I haven't had a chance to check out the actual transcriptions yet (I'm at the office), but you REALLY put alot of work into writing all of the commentary. Your website has been added to my "favorites" - I'll enjoy reading all of this!

Hey Pacman - beer sounds good!

I didn't expect to find another talkbasser living in Tokyo - and an AJ fan too!

Haven't quite figured out to send personal mails via talkbass yet, but feel free to drop me a mail at:

Anyone else feel like a beer/sake blowout!?
