Anthony Jackson on Lee Ritenour's Overtime

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi.

I just watched The "Overtime" DVD with Lee ritenour, and was (once again) totally floored by Anthony Jackson's tone. Deepth, fullness, Clarity and punch. Just amazing.
I'm not even gonna mention his playing which is always above world-class.

Melvin Davis also plays on the Dvd, and while he is definately a good player, IMO it seems that Mr. Jacksons sound is just in another league.

I been a fan of Anthony Jackson for ages, but he just keeps on amazing me :-)

Three great bassists (Carpenter, Jackson, Davis) playing the three 'eras' of Lee's music.... swing, fusion, smooth jazz.

Anthony is scary playing Captain Fingers, and Melvin just NAILS those classic Marcus Miller lines.

Great DVD all around, and three great bands!

I really dug all three bassist on that DVD too! Melvin Davis's groove and tone really lights my fire. Did anybody notice AJ sitting next to a GKRB800? So much for that he needs 50 grand worth of a rig to get his tone.
