Hey all,
I've come across some more AJ videos lately so I thought I would post them so the other fans could check them out.
First is Anthony accompanying Mike Stern at a masterclass: Link
Next is Anthony playing with Michel Camilo and El Negro at the North Sea Jazz Festival in '02. Link
Here is a short clip that finds Anthony playing with Michel Petrucciani. It's short but definitely worth watching. Link
And lastly, here's a clip that is a mixture of live concert footage and an interview with Michel Petrucciani. You can tell what an amazing individual Michel was in many ways. Link
Enjoy and please post any comments or thoughts! |

I was lucky enough to see Mike Stern with AJ, Dave Weckl and Bob Francesini at Ronnie Scott's - what a gig! Words like 'killing' and 'ridiculous' can't really convey the sheer joy and energy AJ seemed to inspire in everyone - I've heard Weckl about 4 times live before, but never have I heard him let rip like he did that night - I can only think it was AJ's presence that loosened him up. I was also lucky enough to see AJ with Wayne Krantz when I was in NYC in April at the 55 Bar - which I hear they have stopped doing now. I sat right next to Keith Carlock's kit with Wayne right in front of me and just about 10 feet from AJ's Epi rig - that was unbelievable stuff...! Then the next day hung out with Matt Garrison at the Fodera workshop... oh what a trip.
Happy days.
M
EDIT - just found this longer clip with Petrucciani (who I think is awesome beyond words too), Gadd and AJ - lovely stuff: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-j8Ch...eature=related

I have that DVD with Michel and the guys. Only thing is, I need a multi region player to watch it. I used to watch it on my Windows PC but now that I have a Mac I don't get to watch it. It's great though! |

El Negro is the man for the 'latin/fusion' thing IMO. |

That DVD is one of the best media purchases I've ever made.
And here is the link for anyone that would like to see it.
I absolutely can't wait for the DVD that Chick Corea recorded at the Blue Note last year with Anthony. Hurry up, Chick! |

I love Anthony. My favourite work of his though is probably on the song "Slip Slidin' Away" by Paul Simon. |

I like his solos a lot, although it took me a while.
Some of the music he is involved in however I find , well, not so great( although mostly really well played etc, just not my taste) | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
