There drummer has the most vintage sounding tone, of any modern recording, especially "Girl Watcher" and "The Scene"...
Awesome!
They definately have a unique, ZZtop meets Reggae sound |

Funny story... I was at a bar in Toronto a few years back and a buddy of mine tried tp pick up Gordie Johnson's (Big Sugar's singer/guitarist) wife. She was unbelievably gorgeous and he didn't know who she was...
Gordie is in a band called Grady now and lives in Texas I believe. Haven't heard thier stuff.

Grady seems forced, and no where near as laid back...
Plus the "blues" element to big sugar seemed much more genuine...
The guys I play really wanna play "better get used to it"... |

Gibson actually made a Gordie sig SG a while back....

He lives here in Austin, and he stops by the Continental Club frequently. One hell of a cool cat. I just thought it was crazy running into him, since it's not too often I meet fellow Canadians down here.
I've been a fan of theirs since I was a teenager, and it's been a mystery of sorts as to why they never gained popularity in the US.
By the way.. If you guys dig Big Sugar, have a listen to a band called Big Wreck. They're another killer Canadian band that never caught on over here.
