These guys are still one of my favourite "prog jazz rock" bands (for want of a more suitable genre).

Jon Hiseman is one of the great drummers, Gary Moore was at his best at the time (before he morphed into Eric Clapclone), Don Airey was a bit of a synth pioneer and Jon Mole ain't half alright on the bass.

They only did three albums (all kind of hard to find now - I spent ages tracking down the 3rd on CD), but they're well worth a listen if you like that sort of vibe. They regularly get played here in my house. The 1st album, from about '77 IIRC, had a vocalist called Mike Starr; anybody ever heard of him after that?

I am a huge fan, I always thought it was some of Gary Moore's best work. Strange New Flesh was cool was well.

I have been listening to it recently, both Electric Savage & Wardance (I just found their music again - had all their LP'S) I find it has not aged as well as some other fusion/prog instrumental-bands. Still was great music. It was all about Gary Moore & Jon Heisman to me.

Funny but I also rediscovered Todd Rungren's Utopia and to me, that has held up better in my opinion.

Gary Moore has one of the most distinctive killer vibrato's & Les Paul tones ever. You know its him after a few notes.
