I know that was a joke, but it isn't as if the band had anything to do with that. In fact, it wasn't even the whole band's bus. It was Boyd Tinsley's and the driver was alone when he dumped the septic tank.

Band Driver Pleads Guilty

For the record, I am a DMB fan. I liked them alright until I saw them live years ago. Since then I've bought every studio album and a pair of live ones (Chicago and Folsom Field) and seen them in concert when I could. I'm generally not a fan of modern jam bands, but I really dig them.

I've always loved Lessard's tone and groove and I like what he brings to the table, but I agree he can't (and shouldn't) solo. If you want to hear some bass solos with DMB, the "Live in Chicago" album has a couple cuts with Victor Wooten.

I am a huge Dmb fan and love Lessard's style. However, I do agree a solo by him should be a felony.

Lessard was only 16 when he joined DMB because Dave said he was a prodigy. Now that he's like 30 I wonder if he's lived up to expectations. I guess to some degree since he's still playing with them.

Couldn't agree more. And he should stay away from that distortion pedal.

No, my guess is that it's more of a "I'm leaving this gig when you pry it out of my cold dead hands" kind of thing.

I saw a outdoor DMB concert. The whole band is just incedible. I wasnt playing bass at the time, but you could hear Stefan's bass loud and clear. Now that I can play some of their tunes on bass, Stefan has become one of my favorite groove players.

I own the DMB live DVD in Central Park in 2003 and it was a great concert. My personal favorites are Cortez the Killer and Jimi Thing with Warren Hanyes really great jams

That's what I strive for: faint praise.
