The group consisted of Ian Lloyd, former lead singer of Stories, Bruce Fairbairn, Jim Vallance, Jimmy Lowell, Andrew Kirin, and Patrick Mahassen.

I forget who the keyboard player was. Always wondered why they weren't more popular or sold more records. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5G3Fg25hg8 |

or perhaps something more obscure and noir-ish, ClockDVA: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jyNY9-Zl2Ds
great bass lines in both of these

Not sure why they called it that, but quintessential 80's all the way. What caught my ear was the fretless bass, which I'd never heard in a 80's metal song. After years of trying, I got the hair down but could never quite nail this bass line!
Staying in the Aussie theme, I always liked the song Crazy from Icehouse: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xzMaptbNMRw
I played and sang this in a cover band when it came out and it killed. What's funny is the original video, which looks like it was done with one long camera take: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QS5mPQKf8Rw
The sparks coming of the wall for no apparent reason just kill me, probably because of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xs4v-zexx8M
Patton Oswalt's take on 80's metal. Hilarious, but NSFW language and delicate ear holes, so turn it down first!

Love the bass tone, love the Wal. Just not sure it's a Wal on the original recording though.
