Also got the first Saxon albums, so I couldn't list them, but I had missed those as well. Wheels Of Steel and Crusader are just awesome!
..and the old Lizzy Borden stuff
Loved Stryper as well...for the music though, the message was definitely not for me. Also used to really like Barren Cross. They were like the Fates Warning of Christian metal at the time...
I need to find stuff like Gary Numan, M, Wall Of Voodoo, Split Endz...all of that early 80's new wave stuff....

Always an upfront in the mix and great bass tone there. |

Here's a clip Pat Lynch playing Black Dog
Still using the same pilot he used on that recording...

He (Tommy Conwell) still plays in the area once in a while. I have to make sure we get out to see him again.
EDIT - I typed that while sitting in my car at my son's soccer club practice, listening to my iPod, and the next song that came on is The A's "Woman's Got The Strength"!

Actually the “Danelectro” was a Jerry Jones “replica” — I used it on the 1994-95 work with the Attractions and pretty much all the session work I did post-Attractions, including the Suzanne Vega albums."

Early U2 was pretty rocking and politically and emotionally charged. They seemed more serious and important back then. See: War, Boy, Unforgettable Fire. I like the early Adam Clayton parts.
TSOL was a good bluesy-metal band (w/ joe wood as vocalist--Hit and Run album).
I'll admit I liked gene loves Jezebel mostly for their music not the singing and makeup.
REM has been discussed on tb before. mike mills has some cool lines and great backing vocals. My favorite album is still life's rich pageant.
Los lobos kiko is that 80s? Great album I still listen to it especially long drives. |
