Starfighters with Stevie Young, nephew of Angus and Malcom.

Spent countless hours driving around listening to "Grinder" from British Steel by Judas Priest.

Lots of this stuff is "found" on my iPod right now. But here's a few contributions:

Amnesia - The Tubes have been mentioned already but check out Ric Anderson's bass tone on this one.
No New Tale to Tell - Love & Rockets have already been mentioned but I think this one really kills.
The BoDeans; in a just world, these guys would be bizillionaires.
Concrete Blonde; featuring righteous CWB Johnette Napolitano.
The Rainmakers; should be bizillionaires too.

Amnesia is a very cool tune.

Speaking of Krokus, I always thought this was one of the best hair metal band songs.

Here is a guy who had a few really cool songs in the 80s that are now pretty much forgotten. He should have been bigger.

The Teardrop Explodes

I didn't see The Teardrop Explodes, with bassist and uber-wierdo Julian Cope as frontman, on this list:

http://youtu.be/Me8koyuX4YE

I love tons of 80s stuff--not sure how much is "lost." Lots of it is getting found. Within the past year or so, I saw Wire, Gang of Four, and what's left of Joy Division at the Metro in Chicago!
