I didn't buy it, but I listened to it this morning.

More of the same I guess. Where in "In Your Honor" they separated the "soft" and "hard" songs on two different discs, they intermingle them on Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace.

I think Foo Fighter fans will really dig it, but I don't see it making them any new fans. I like them alright, and I thought there were a couple pretty good songs on it, but some misfires too.

Maybe I'm offbase, but two of the songs "Statues" and "Come Alive" seem like they are influenced by Steely Dan.

One thing that has been bugging me about the Foo Fighters for a while now is that they seem overproduced. It's been getting worse as the albums go along. This latest record is especially glossy and almost sterilized from a production standpoint. It doesn't serve the music well IMO.

I listened to most of the songs last night.

Seems uninspired.

Just bought the album on iTunes.

It's very reminiscent of In Your Honor. "The Pretender" is great, very high energy and addictive, but the rest of the album seems to lag a little bit. I'll have to give it a few more listens to really get a feel for it. There's definitely a more mellow feel to it overall though. This phenomenon seems to happen to almost all bands. I admit, I miss the energetic feel and excitement from The Colour and the Shape and There is Nothing Left to Lose.

There are some spots on this album that really sounds like some left overs from the last album.

I agree. I listened to the new album and nothing really grabbed me. It sounds like they're making the same album over and over. They are a great band but it'd be cool to hear them change things up a little.
