Anyone else like Kinski?

I've seen a couple people mention them in passing in other threads, but I just picked up their new album "Down Below It's Chaos" and I am really digging it.

I have "Don't Climb On and Take the Holy Water" (which was a departure) and "Alpine Static", but IMO this album is their best yet.

If you haven't heard them yet, check them out.

Yep, I have 4 Kinski albums. Good stuff. They've changed a lot.

Nastassja of course.

How did Klaus have such a hot daughter? He was a weird looking guy but she is/was smoking, although she loses points for being in the movie version of my second most hated books. "Tess of the d'Urbervilles" trails only "Jane Eyre" in that category.

Back on topic, does nobody else but me and mnolansoc listen to this band?

Given such a cool reply, I feel I owe it to go hear some Kinski and find out if I do like them.

TheBigO, you should check out GregorSamsa if you haven't already. They are a great post-rock band- One of my favourites.

It's funny you mention them. I have their cd 55:12 out in my car right now. I was at my friends house and saw it in his collection. I had just finished reading Kafka's "Metamorphosis" so I was intrigued.

Good stuff. I'd describe them as an American version of Sigur Ros.

As promised, I checked them out, first by reading their write-up on AllMusic.com. The comparison to Sonic Youth hooked me. I downloaded Alpine Static from iTunes, and I like it. They do remind me of Sonic Youth in places, and of Television in others.

Love their song titles: "Hot Stenographer," "The Wives of Artie Shaw."
