Follow For Now was a pioneering rock/funk/soul/heavy metal band from Atlanta, Georgia that were seen by fans and critics as the forefunners of the "black rock" movement of the early 1990s.

This band only cut one CD (titled eponymously), which I have and it is one of my favourites. I was just curious as to whether any fellow TB'ers knew of this great band and their tone monster bassist, Jamie Turner.
I am curious about whatever happened to this relatively unknown, but great bassist. If anyone has any info please share it. |

I have the CD, too.. one of my favorite unsung rock records. Talk about funkin' it up.. "6s and 7s".. that song kills me every time. Great bass line.
David Ryan Harris went on to have a successful career as a solo act and a sideman, but I'm not sure what happened to the other guys. I did see the guitar player, I think his name was Chris, playing in a popular local band a few years ago. If memory serves me, they were called 8 Bus. I saw them a few times. It was like funk-metal, and they were a super-tight live band.

| Funny you should mention that track in particular. I'm in a local cover band, presented the song to the rest of the band and they agreed to play it. We're going to rehearse it for the first time tonight. I've got a workable tone for it, but I sure would like to know what Jamie's set up was originally.
Yeah, the guitarist was Chris Tinsley. My guitarist listened to that track for about 5 seconds before deciding he wanted to play it. |

That's cool that your band is doing that song! Should be a lot of fun to play.

The bassist, Billy, bounced around the city for a while. Now he plays with an Atlanta acid jazz band called Seek. The back story on this band was, well, not good. They guys got royally screwed by management and one member of the band. I won't go into details, but it ruined a great band.
