Anyone familiar with the Sequis Motherload DI/Attenuator???

Is anyone familiar with the Sequis Motherload DI/Attenuator? I am going to start a recording project for a local band and I just want to improve the input signal on the bass. In the past, I've tried just straight direct out from amp to preamp and the result are good but I'm wondering if having the Motherload as a front end before the preamp will give the recording a more clear and punchy signal. I'm hoping to combine this with miking up the cab. Let me know what you think. Any inputs would be helpful.
