Going against superficial type doesn't make someone a hypocrite.

^ I know I was just curious if anyone listened to music that goes against what they believe. I think that smoking anything is dumb but I love the kind of music that glamorizes it (sludge, stoner, and psychedelic metal).

I don't take hallucinogens, but I adore psychedelic music.

I used to do gospel church gigs because I liked the music.Big Band, Hornsection, Choir, the works and good pay too! The charts were hard, Fred Hammond,Kirk Franklin,Commissioned,John P Kee,Kim Burrell...that sort of stuff.A real challenge.
I loved it except for the healings and speaking in tongues , the pastor with a bad wig and the southern accent to go with the whole program( we were not in the south)etc.
Even though I was a Christian back then ( I am not anymore, I am an Apathetic Agnostic with Buddist tendencies ) I did feel like a hypocrite.
Then again people pretending to be healers and who are speaking in tongues...what are they???

Charlatans. This is especially true if they are fishing for large "donations."

Nope. When I start liking a genre I force myself to fit the stereotype that goes along with it.

I like Schoolhouse Rock, but I suck at spelling, math and civics.

Same here.

Putting on 175 lbs, learning Italian, and growing my hair out took forever, but now I can listen to the best of the best Opera.

I like many types of music strongly associated with certain stereotypes of fashion/behavior/associated interests

But I don't conform to any stereotype really... I just like what I like, dress how I like, and do the things I like
