My guitarist is definitely a Page fan. I dig the JPJ. You can hear some of our Zeppier moments on the song "Metal Test" on our myspace page.

Round here, the "trendy" Zep fans are a bit yesterday. As for the band, I've never liked them. When there is so much great music from the 70's (Rush, Return to Forever, Weather Report etc etc) I just don't have the time to listen to something so average!

^ A little bitterness Chris2112? Shredders donīt get Led Zeppellin, and they never will, i think itīs a little sad.

...anyway, letīs keep on praising the ZEP, as a teenager i only knew/was interested in Stairway to Heaven, but as i grew older i forgot about them. Long story short i "re-discovered" them about 2 years ago, i still canīt stop listening to them. I feel something like envy of the young people that is discovering ZEP at 14 or 15 years old. Bonzo is the greatest drummer ever and i bet heīs up there with Jeff and Keith. My band has a very strong ZEP influence according to several people, i play a Fender Jazz, my guitarist plays a ī78 LesPaul Custom exclusively and our drummer plays with a lot of energy and punch and grooves like a M@therF...

A little bit of a rant, i think it is because i feel at home posting in this thread

I loved Zep growing up but find some of it hard to listen to these days. Robert's singing in those days was pretty much over the top, I loved it then but it kind of annoys me now. It was a different time, I guess I got older but I still love those riffs. I also think Robert's stuff now with Allison Krause is really tasteful and shows off his voice really well.

Stairway to Heaven may have been played out, but I gave it a recent listen and it just awed me. They made some amazing music. Monumental songs like Stairway and Kashmir are pretty huge accomplishments IMO. JPJ is also one incredible musician and one of the funkiest rock bassists ever.
