Aphrodite's Child?

I came across this band through the 'Recommended For You' feature on YT and what I've heard has been pretty good.

They're a Greek band as far as I know, early 1970s, and prog.

Anyone else heard of them/a fan?

Definitely, Aphrodite's Child is one of those little gems of the 70's. Vangelis played in that band before starting his solo gig and his keyboard playing is unmistakeable.

yep... Vangelis on keys and Demis Roussos was the vocalist and bassist iirc. They both went on to do solo stuff, Roussos was big in the UK for a while, as a singer and Vangelis teamed with Jon Anderson (post Yes) as "Jon and Vangelis", their album "Friends of Mr Cairo" is worth a listen if you haven't heard it yet.

Their 666 album is great, some excellent bass playing on it too.

Yes, "666" is one of the most unique albums I've ever heard....and I love it! It wasn't available on CD until fairly recently.
