Crazy awesome! Milt "The Judge" Hinton on bass. Hinton is a founding father of modern bass playing. You usually can't hear him well on records but you can on this one. The rest of the band is great as well but this being a bass forum...

Edit: I was all excited about hearing Milt Hinton clearly for once and I forgot to mention Bill Lee played on most of the tracks. Lee's also great. Woops.

Cool, had to look on youtube to find a few examples. Interesting to hear, I had been familiar only with her Atlantic and later stuff.

her voice is already so mature, if lacking some fulness in the higher registers compared to a little later.

Beautiful bass, they sure knew how to record DB in the '60s.
