Bach on Bass

I just recorded Bach's Two Part Invention no. 1, it's 2 separate bass tracks recorded using a six string bass tuned E-A-D-G-C-F. Let me know how it sounds

also, you might have to turn the volume up to hear it(I suck at home recording)

Thumbs up

sounds good, well studied!

I remember a yootoob video with Jack Bruce saying that Bach's got some killer bass lines.

Beautiful. Wish I had an ounce of your technique (sigh). Must be really satisfying to play, too.

More of the same, please. There could be a CD in this...

If anyone wants the powertab file I made for this, let me know. It's for 2 six-strings tuned E-F, but of course it can be played down a fourth in standard tuning.

I definetly have an interest in classical music, any particular pieces you would reccomend that play well on bass?

Thanks, I was a little worried about the tone at first because the high F string is from conklin and the rest are Fodera, but I can't really notice a change in sound between them.

Wow, that sounds really ridiculously good. Great playing...
I learned the Cello Prelude in G (that all bassists (and cellists) should know--it's a good warmup and fun to play), but I really need to get something else classical to work on. Classical music on bass is great for strengthening your reading I find, because the rhythms are usually simple enough that one is able to concentrate more on notes.

Thanks alot,

that's true, many of the first classical pieces I played were often just straight sixteenth notes.
