I remember a yootoob video with Jack Bruce saying that Bach's got some killer bass lines.

I learned the Cello Prelude in G (that all bassists (and cellists) should know--it's a good warmup and fun to play), but I really need to get something else classical to work on. Classical music on bass is great for strengthening your reading I find, because the rhythms are usually simple enough that one is able to concentrate more on notes.

that's true, many of the first classical pieces I played were often just straight sixteenth notes. |
