Backing tracks basics

Does anyone ever use an iPod to run backing tracks? Why run Abelton or something like that? I've heard of a couple bands using Ableton.

We are looking to run a backing track, so i just need to know what to use.

We have access to Adobe Audition and Garageband and iPods and an iPad.

There's gotta be someone here that does backing tracks...

What do you use? laptop with Abelton, iPad, iPod?

Is this a common question no one wants to answer?
