Band's first "EP" Need Feedback.

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys, Just looking for a little feedback on my bands new recordings. IMHO, the production could use a little work, but that will be worked on with numerous cups of coffee in about a week's time.
Just looking for some constructive criticism or just criticism. Thanks a bunch.

Weird beats on Wednsday-

Not sure if I like the singer, sounds like he is not singing from his diaphram.

Nice bass on Uncle sam. The singer is really out of key on this song - ouch!

Wrong is probably the best song vocally. Ha, Wrong is right, Uncle Sam is Wrong- I see irony here!

Proud is out of key as well.

I like the band though, nice bass work

Yeah, Im trying to get the singer to use more diaphragm, but he is a little stubborn about his style.

He needs singing/voice lessons

Are singers above lessons?

All other musicians take them.

Any other opinions? we had limited time to do this so we used logicpro and the mbox. Bass was DI, so was acoustic guitar. Electric was miked due to tube amp. Mandolin was also miced as well as the barely audible 12 string on "Wrong." Any tips for a possible better quality recording and instrumentation perhaps?

I like the music a lot, but I agree with most other's comments.
On the recording side...
I got a good (imo) acoustic guitar recording when I used the guitar's built in mic for one channel, and used a separate mic for the other channel to have a stereo recording. What's recorded sounds nice to me though, it's just something that you might be interested in trying.
