Are there any professionally (or just well) done jazz tunes with just bass and vocals?
I know of Fever (great tune) but are there any others?
I guess they would probably be single tracks on different albums but I need your help to find them.
Thanks!

It's not quite what I'm looking for but it was fantastic!
I play bass guitar as opposed to double bass but maybe I can figure something out to make it work for me.
Both versions are great but Musica nuda had me on the edge of my seat!
Thanks again!
Joe.
EDIT: BTW, I just downloaded the Musica Nuda album Live A Fip. It is fantastic! Lots of great material!

| | | | I remember an upright bass/vocalist duo called "The Pair" who made four records (vinyl LP records) for the Liberty label between 1965-67. They used to pop up a bit on TV back in the 60's as well.
It's been many years since I heard them & the records are kind of hard to find. If I remember correctly (and believe me,my memory can be faulty!) not everything they did worked but when it did it was amazing! I remember a cool version of "Donna Lee" & I think they did a version of the Beatles' "Run For Your Life".
I don't think their stuff has been re-issued,but I could be wrong. There are some European & Japanese labels who reissue obscure American stuff.I work partime in a used CD/record shop & I hardly ever see their LP's. |

| | | | "Moon Over Bourbon Street" by Sting is very much a bass and vocals duet, even though there is a saxophone in the recording. You could definitely do it as an electric bass and vocal. Upright bass on the recording, but it's, IMO, a great example.
You could also do very similar thing with "Sister Moon" which works well as bass/vocal duet.
Be creative about it- there's many songs out there that can be done that way.
