Bass Harmonics?

Sign in to disble this ad
I have always enjoyed this song. In just over 3 minutes, this song is chock full of incredibly fine content: horns, vocals, and of course, that distinctive 70's LA sound!

At the closing, there are harmonics, perhaps some of it is key boards, but it also sounds like bass harmonics. What do you think?

The bass on this track is played by Max Bennett.

Larry Carlton is also all over the album where this song is from.

Sublime music--and as you say, plenty for everyone here packed into just 3 minutes. And Max Bennett is always a treat. So tasteful and versatile. He's practically a walking history of the modern bass. On the specific question of bass harmonics, I am honestly not sure, but I'd be happy to give Max the credit for such lovely, well-placed sounds.

As the song closes, it sure sounds like it. Just looking for a second, third, & so on thoughts.

I miss that kind of production on a record.

Here's how I understand the song ending:

That section actually starts at 2:28, but the first measure is played just by the keyboard on the first repeat.

What an awesome tune. Never heard it before.

P.S.: Not that I have so much spare time in my hands. Just that I wanted to take this little challenge because I enjoyed the song so much.

I would say that was time pretty well spent! Thank you.
