I want to be able to record my bass on the PC and covert it into an mp3.
Not bothered about super high quality.
how do I do this?? & what do I need to buy?
thanks. sorry for being a dumbass. it's just not something I've ever done before

Buy a digital recorder of some sort. There are tones of em out there but if you want to go a more cost effective route I would suggest a Zoom PS04. There is a small learning curve but once you get it you get it. There is a tone of file format conversion software out there too. I have Adobe Audition, which is basically a studio on your computer that does format coversion as well. I dont't know how much Audition was(it was on my computer) but the Ps04 was about 250 Canadian so it's probably only 170 or 180 or less in the States. Hope this helps.
