Question

Sign in to disble this ad
I was thinking, which could be a dangerous thing at times , about pulling a bass solo out of a recording, putting it on my site and placing a link to it here in a thread, for the purpose of saying, "Hey check this out". I figure others could do this as well, but the question I have is this: Is this okay? Is it legal? Is it a Napster type thing?

I don't think there would be a problem with it, as long as you give proper credit, i.e. where you took it from, and who it is.
Since it's only an excerpt, and you're not trying to make money off of it there shouldn't be a prob.
