Are you addressing us all as bassists? A bold assumption... what about the frauds who just try to hang with bassists? Should they listen to Edgar Winter, or should they just leave our forum? They're only fooling themselves!

I like Edgar Winter, I was just calling out all the frauds on the board. The tamboring players who only pretend to be bassists in attempts to get into the pants of the chicks that aren't good enough for the lead singer/guitarist/drummers.

Damn you tambourine players, get offa my lawn.

I heard Edgar Winter about 20 years ago - and Frankenstein is great - but what's he done lately?

The late Dan Hartman!!! Guy was a genius. George Sheck in White Trash was darn good, too, but Dan Hartman rocked. Aside from being a great singer, bassist, and writer, Dan also had the first wireless bass setup...built into his silver lame suit!

Been listening to Edgar Winter since the White Trash album which I still like the best of all his stuff. An ass-kickin R&B horn band.

I didn't know Dan Hartman was dead!?
EDIT: Just checked out Wiki...I had no clue he died in 1994. Wow.

I remember seeing that silver suit with the built-in bass...it was in a Circus magazine I had. Not sure it ever worked?

Way back when ('74-'75), my first concert was The Edgard Winter Group w/ Rick Derringer...on "Free Ride", Hartman was playing a doubleneck (bass + guitar); he would play the main/cool guitar part of the tune(like the intro) while Edgar reached around and tapped the low "A" notes.

I remember him for "Instant Replay" - ironically appropriate ....

My favorite Edgar Winter bassist was Randy Jo Hobbs, who played on the great, live Roadwork album. George Sheck was also a fine bassist -- we used to study with the same teachers during the '70's, so we would meet up at lessons. I'm not a fan of Dan Harman's bass playing, although he was a talented musician. Dan owned the studio where the last Muddy Waters albums were cut, in Westport, Connecticut, the home of the blues and hedge fund managers.

What has Edgar done lately?
Apparently something.

Randy Jo Hobbs was a big influence on me as a kid, great player with a very sad ending.
