Post A bassline a day

Sign in to disble this ad
hello!
I've been playing bass for more than 10 years (not professionaly, mind you - but I should be better by now anyway ). I believe everyone here has a mental list of basslines that have influenced/impressed you. Well, I've started a blog (I hope is all right to publicize it here) where I post, every weekday, a song with a bassline that influenced me. You can listen to it, see the tab (when available) and even vote if you like it or not.

the address is:
http://hearthebass.blogspot.com

Does anyone here do something similar? I would love to see it.

Take care!

I also created a blog with bassline transcriptions made by myself:

Yours is an uber cool idea. I really enjoyed it!

@Waterpilot: thanks a lot! It's good to see you enjoyed it!

@Alvaro: that's quite a production you've got there! Someone (jeremy c) in another forum told me:

If you can play all of those, you've learned a lot of music.

If you write down the lines in standard notation, you will learn a even more.
I guess you must be learning a lot with your website. I know I am learning a lot from your website!

Just out of curiosity: is this a Music Man you play with?

I'm really glad to know that, man. I'm so happy to help.

Yes. My main bass is an EBMM Bongo.

Wow, that's a good site. I have been toying with the idea of buying magazines just to have a random sample of songs to learn because my songs vocab are really limited.

1. Hope you can keep it up, I don't mind if its like 5 songs a month or something.
2. Maybe you can put some "difficulty level" there so I will skip sampling those that will be too hard?

@ Alvaro: Cool. I have Finale's Notepad (it was freeware a while ago. Or a freebie somewhere). never played a lot with it, though.

@ kiwlm: Glad you like it! (1) I hope I can make it 5 times a week (2) I could try, but it would be subjective (how easy is "easy") and how hard is really hard, or am I just not good enough?

Take care!
