|  | Registered User | | Join Date: Mar 2004 Location: Metro St. Louis | | Bernard Edwards grooved like no one I have ever heard. He could be busy when he wanted to, but I no of no one else who could play so simply yet still be melodic.
When Chic was at its height, the Brothers Johnson were often held up as the ultimate r&b bass and guitar duo, at least among listeners (not musicians, IMO.) To me, however, Chic could play them under the table!
For all you Louis Johnson fans, remember I said I like Bernard Edwards better, but there is no way rational way that I can deny that LJ was and is a bad, bad man.

Both Bernard & Louis are/were smokin' bassists who grooved like nobody's bidness. But man, when Nile Rogers gets in the pocket, there are damn few guitarists who can match his sense of groove. |
