Cougar - I have to agree with you on the Rush - R30 DVD. So, here are some of myy recommendations:

Rush - R30 (love the instrumental medley. Their cover of The Who's The Seeker is great also, plus Geddy's sound is simply wonderful - must be the extensive "tumble dryer and vending machine" amp set up he uses as backline! hahahaha)
Prince - Live In Las Vegas - as was said previously, the whole band just kicks - really amazing. I am seeing Prince live in London on 28th August this year, and am pretty excited already at the prospect.
Pink Floyd - Pulse. Guy Pratt playing a storm behind the classic Floyd tracks - plus the guitar solo on Comfortably Numb is still incredible - very often has me in tears as it moves me so much - wonderful stuff!
Standing In the Shadows Of Motown. Great playing by Bob Babbitt, plus great vintage footage of the legendary James Jamerson - this is a definite "must have" for any bass player's collection.
Peter Gabriel - Secret World Live. Tony Levin is just fabulous on this DVD - chordal pull off stuff in Blood Of Eden, octaved fretless in Sledgehammer, Clevinger growling upright on Come Talk To Me and Shaking The Tree, Chapman Stick on Solisbury Hill, plus those low D 1/4 notes in the breakdown section of Secret World are just what being a bass player is all about - I have to go watch this again after writing about it!! hahahaha.

Some more greats....

Jonas Hellborg/Shawn Lane/V.Selvaganesh/V.Umamesh/V.Umashankar-Paris: This one is great. Not only does it feature the late, great Shawn Lane on top form, but the whole band is excellent. Jonas really gives and amazing performance, even if his parts are a tiny bit quiet in the mix. Still an incredibly enjoyable show.

Stanley Clarke-Night School: Another excellent DVD, all kinds of special guests including Stuart Copeland, Stevie Wonder, Larry White, Stuart Hamm, Billy Sheehan, Marcus Miller, Brian Bromberg, Bunny Brunel, and more. A very varied concert with Stanley doing everything from electric to upright and a wide bass of tunes. The final jam on School Days with like, 15 bass players on stage is fantastic.

Rush-Replay: All three shows on this DVD are great, but the Show Of Hands one really is the highpoint. Everything about it is incredible, parhaps the best music DVD I own. Beautiful beyond words.

I love Gentle Giant.
By the end of the gig, I think just about everyone's had a shot at playing everything.
