Nearly any Bootsy Collins songs, except for some crappy ones that he shot with Snoopy Doog and other rappers, lol.

I gotta say anything Rocco Prestia plays! 'What Is Hip' is a classic and a clinic at the same time! But Rocco's got some killer finger funk chops! I gotta add there's a ton of Motown basslines that fall in line as well!

IMO, there is no fingerstyle funk bassline that can even compare to Jaco's "Come On, Come On Over"

"Taxed To The Max"- TOP. I love that one! Actually, I think Rocco is just about the epitome of "finger funk".

Hmmm.....are we talking finger funk in general or 1/16 note finger funk? Jaco was d@mn good at what he did but was most certainly not the funkiest finger style bassist out there, IMO! There are a ton of examples in the Funk 101 thread!

Now that's what I'm talking about! Rocco is a genius when it comes to creating funk bass lines!

Did you ever see him live? He's the funkiest player I've ever seen and I'm a huge Rocco and early James Brown fan.

I don't think you've seen or heard a lot of funk, then! But if he's the funkiest player YOU'VE ever seen, it's all good!

I can't believe no one has mentioned "I heard it through the grapevine" by Marvin Gaye with Jamerson...

And Green Onions by Booker T and the MG's.
