Everyone is always talking about bass solos, so this may change it up a bit.

What is the tightest bass/drum groove that you've ever heard in popular music?

I'll throw one out there: Ascension from Maxwell's Urban Hang Suite album.

Incredibly tight and funky - and simple!

that ridiculous "rapper's delight" song by sugar hill gang. i know they ripped it off from chic but their version grooves harder for some reason.

Simple but effective...........Everybody Rules The World by Tears For Fears! Or Michael Jackson's The Way You Make Me Feel! I loves songs with steady pulsing basslines!
