Metalheads just go buy it! I recently rebought it becuase I found a remastered edition and wanted the bonus tracks. Its got a remix of "criminally insane" that is just so mindblowingly awesome. Anyway Im calling it a must have. Very few albums are this perfect. If you dont have it already GO GET IT NOW!

Now rename the thread and discuss about the second best heavy metal album ever.
Or I will swallow your soul. |

You started a thread here and proclaimed that "Reign in Blood" is the best ever.
Perhaps you should have proposed an exchange of ideas about the greatest metal albums ever.
If we are going that way I have to choose between 3:
- Masters of Puppets (Metallica)
- Dead Hearth in a Dead World (Nevermore)
- Space Metal (Star One)
(Oh, and btw: as much a SOB Lars is, even he isn't that full of himself to proclaim that an album from his own band is the best ever.)
Don't take life so seriously. Don't take metal so seriously.
opinions don't equal facts
But thank you for the suggestion to metalheads to check out that album.
I personally don't like Slayer. That is just my opinion.

As for Slayer, they have only two songs that have held my intrest.

| I am all for the exchange of ideas. I jut began by stating my opinion instead of going "OK guys lets discuss it."
I listen to lots of metal. I mean A LOT. Reign In Blood is the ultimate for me, it just kicks the listeners *** all the way through. For me its perfection, the epitomy of everything heavy metal should be about. What really stands out to me on this one over the other Slayer albums is the mixing. Its just way better than on the bands other albums. Every instrument sounds somehow clearer, and Tom's vocals are just pure power.
To your credit even though I hate Metallica with all my heart, I will admit that Master of Puppets is a good maybe even great album.
St. Anger won a Grammy? Who voted there?

Are you sure its not Metallica's " SAINT ANGER " ?
| Words cannot describe how much I hate that album.
Lets look at some of the awesome lyrics just on that title track: Quote:
Saint Anger 'round my neck
Saint Anger 'round my neck
He never gets respect
Saint Anger 'round my neck
| Same Line 3/4 times. Quote:
(You flush it out, you flush it out)
Saint Anger 'round my neck
(you flush it out, you flush it out)
He never gets respect
(you flush it out, you flush it out)
Saint Anger 'round my neck
(You flush it out, you flush it out)
He never gets respect
| The "You flush it Out" is so cheesy and retarded on that track its rediculous. Also we have 2lines repeated twice here. Quote:
**** it all and no regrets,
I hit the lights on these dark sets.
I need a voice to let myself
To let myself go free.
**** it all and ****in' no regrets,
I hit the lights on these dark sets.
Let down your noose, I'll hang myself.
Saint Anger 'round my neck
| More Repition of terrible lyrics, and Weve compared Anger to a noose making the worst metal analogy ever. Quote:
I feel my world shake
Like an earthquake
Hard to see clear
Is it me? Is it fear?
| First two lines sound like a second grader wrote them. Quote:
I'm madly in anger with you
I'm madly in anger with you
I'm madly in anger with you
I'm madly in anger with you
| Repeat with unenthuastic rage. Quote:
Saint Anger 'round my neck
Saint Anger 'round my neck
He never gets respect
Saint Anger 'round my neck
(You flush it out, you flush it out)
Saint Anger 'round my neck
(You flush it out, you flush it out)
He never gets respect
(You flush it out, you flush it out)
Saint Anger 'round my neck
(You flush it out, you flush it out)
He never gets respect
| We covered that already. It is Metallica Law that James must oohh at least once per song for no apparent reason. Quote:
**** it all and no regrets,
I hit the lights on these dark sets.
I need a voice to let myself
To let myself go free.
**** it all and ****in' no regrets,
I hit the lights on these dark sets.
Let down your noose, I'll hang myself.
Saint Anger 'round my neck
I feel my world shake
Like an earthquake
Hard to see clear
Is it me? Is it fear?
I'm madly in anger with you
I'm madly in anger with you
I'm madly in anger with you
I'm madly in anger with you
and I want my anger to be healthy
and I want my anger just for me
and I need my anger not to control
yeah, and I want my anger to be me
and I need to set my anger free
and I need to set my anger free
and I need to set my anger free
and I need to set my anger free
SET IT FREE!
**** it all and no regrets,
I hit the lights on these dark sets.
I need a voice to let myself
To let myself go free.
**** it all and ****in' no regrets,
I hit the lights on these dark sets.
Let down your noose, I'll hang myself.
Saint Anger 'round my neck
I feel my world shake
Like an earthquake
Hard to see clear
Is it me? Is it fear?
I'm madly in anger with you
I'm madly in anger with you
I'm madly in anger with you
I'm madly in anger with you
| Isnt that the same as the first half? Singing a crappy song twice does not make it good, just twice as crappy.
AND THE WHOLE ALBUM IS LIKE THAT! Quote: |
My Life Style Determines my Death Style.
| From "Frantic." This is the stupidest metal lyric ever, bar none. Thats coming from a Manowar fan. |

St. Anger won a Grammy? Who voted there? | My friend, we got off to a bad start I'm afraid.
I wasn't picking a fight with you.
If you think that Reign in Blood, then that is good for you.
I never said you shouldn't like it.
It's always comes over wrong on a forum on the net, such a first post.
I realize that you just want to share your opinion. |

How does the metal-album-top3 from one Irish metalhead looks like? |

far as best metal album goes i'd still say Master of Puppets, it's just that damn good.
and yngwie; where have you been? you're acting like reign in blood is this great new album . it's a good album, fast, aggressive. it does sound like one long song though, yet it's still a great metal album...definetly up there. it just doesn't beat puppets for sheer brilliance though. |

That's not even a metal album, Saint Anger.
So no point discussing it here. |

Ozzy - Blizzard Of Ozz,
Iron Maiden - Powerslave,
Pantera - Cowboys From Hell,
But I'll repeat myself in saying that there is no real best metal album(or any other kind), just like there is no perfect bass, or rig, or effect, just like basses, I find I love a lot of metal cds, and can't really choose one over the other.

| Ive owned the album for a long time, like I said in first post, I rebought it for a couple of bonus tracks. Just relistening to it for the first time in a long time reminded me of how amazing it is. My main focus here is the younger metalheads that are growing up without history. Mainstream media and MTV is not going to keep Metal alive. You gotta pass on te oldies to the new fans. So basically Im saying if your a younger fan and havent got this one yet, you should.
My top 5:
1.Reign In Blood-Slayer
2.Rock In Rio-Iron Maiden
3.Cowboys From Hell-Pantera
4.Greatest Hits70-78-Black Sabbath
5.Toxicity-System of a Down
