I'm a huge Geddy and Rush fan, but I have never bought a singl DVD of theirs. I have all of their live albums, their studio albums, etc. Which one do you reccomend?? |

If you really want to hear Geddy get Rush in Rio, but the two listed above are a must! |

Exit...Stage Left, Grace Under Pressure, and A Show of Hands bundled.
Plus you don't have to worry about some of the performances being a little disappointing due to age!

I hate when I buy a DVD in it sounds super-hi-fi-just-like-the-cd. |

But different strokes, I guess. |

But different strokes, I guess. | For me , I think different stages live was the most ballzy and funky tone He ever had, with Rio being the compleate opposite.
To bad theres no different stages DVD.
So your 100% right about the 'different strokes' comment. |

| | Will work for groove | | Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: Middletown, OH | | | If I were going for the quality of sound, I'd pick Snakes and Arrows hands down. For energy level, I'd pick Rush In Rio. Then in order of preference after that, R-30...then all the rest. To me, Snakes and Arrows is really awesome in the sound department. You can hear every note played. Rio is great due to the crowd energy, but you lose some of the sound due to that.

It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the official DVDs, but it's a terrific show anyway: http://www.digitalrushexperience.com...cordingID=1098
And answering the question, Replay X3 is a terrific package. R-30 and Rio are also great for different reasons: While R-30 is more "polished", the crowd makes a big difference on the Rio DVD (and I like "O Baterista" better than "Der Trommler"). Snakes And Arrows Live is also great. In other words, do what I did: GET 'EM ALL. |
