I was just wondering because one of my good friends is a talented piano player and I want to know some good jam/warm up songs to play with her.

Check out some Ben Folds Five. Some good ones to try are:

Underground
Philosophy
Army
Song for the Dumped
Kate
etc. (bassically the more upbeat songs)

Hope that helped.

I agreee completely with the Billy Joel and Ben Folds. Miles Davis' "Blue in Green" off of Kind of Blue is a great one, too.

Some of the Beatles can be do-able.

Any Doors stuff is good. Try 'Riders On The Storm'.

real book suggestions

Out of the real book, some nice tunes for duets are:

A Child is Born
Someday My Price Will Come
It May as Well Be Spring

A Child is Born is particularly enjoyable to solo over. Also, the chords are easy to play on bass. Assuming you canplay chords and still imply rythm, I think the pianist would love to solo on that.

Bill Frissell and Fred hersch have a nice album of duets called "Songs We Know". This may provide approaches to these tunes.
