Best way for me to record my demo?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello, I'm trying to find the best, most cost affective way for me to record myself playing to use as a demo for a media packet of myself.

I am thinking I simply want to play my drum machine with some pre recorded fills and play my bass along with it.

I have a mackie 16 channel soundboard, but I'm thinking that using the "out" on this is not the best option.

My drum machine does not have an "in" for my bass.

I have a Zoom H2 recorder with an 1/8" "in."

I have a laptop and audacity.

**So, what is my best bet here. Should I buy something so that I can play into my computer and then edit it?

I tried running my bass and drum machine into the mackie board, and then out of the board into the zoom H2 but it sounded like dog ****.

Help! thanks.
