I have to DJ this party next week, and I need a lot of "Big" funk that is very danceable and...funky. I have these so far for examples:

E, W & F - Shining Star
TOP - Diggin on James Brown
Stevie Wonder - Superstition

Thanks, all

TOP - Keep your feet on solid ground
EWF - take your pick. Every album has a few ...

If your up for the live edit challenge, Chameleon works up to the bridge so you need to be ready to work that change.

and If you're actually selecting cut's rather than cd's then you have to have some of the 70's stuff.

Commodores (or was it the Ohio Players ?) Brickhouse, Kool & the Gang (jungle boogy but just about anything else will do as well. If you look around itunes or amazon you can probably find a some good 70's funk compilations.

I'd probably through in some of the more dancable 'wave' stuff as well, assuming that dancing is the point. There's some Devo (Crack that whip), Gary Numan (Here in my Car), B52's - basically party mix stuff ... depending on the age and make up of the crowd all that stuff will work. Not truly funk, but dancable filler for sure.
