I don't think ever been so happy to be born when I was, music-wise anyway! I mean, if you were born in the 50's you had Black Sabbath, Blue Oyster Cult, Led Zepplin and Deep Purple. If you were born in the 60's you had Van Halen, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest. If you were born in the 70's you had Metallica, Guns 'n' Roses, Pantera and Megadeth. For 80's and 90's babies, by the time we were old enough to discover our own musical taste, metal had gone hundreds of different directions and while thats not a bad thing, hell it's a great thing! But, sometimes i wished that there was a straight up, no holds barred, roundhouse kick to the face heavy metal band that we could call our own. And while there have been great bands that came about none have satisfied that one part of me.... UNTIL NOW!! I've been checking out Black tide for a few months now and they're great. I won't waste any time trying to describe their awesomeness; Fun Fact though: none of the members are over 20! Call me over excited or whatever but i haven't been this happy since i found out that I enjoy this music
Anywho their new CD is due out by March 2008. Here's what you can looking forward too:
Shockwave: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rw4aqN0XlRc
Warriors of Time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LG-Onn3V4w8
II just have a feeling that these guys are gonna be OUR band, ya' know? Well, i hope so, either way thank god for Headbanger's Ball for finally putting up some worthwhile stuff.

The bands you listed were so great because they were doing something original, this band is kind of doing the NWOBHM kickback style that seems to have got popular. Bands like 3 inches of blood and early man... I don't know, if you think that this band is the only band to do anything worthwhile in metal/rock since Metallica/Pantera/Megadeth/GN'R I think you need to look around more.
Good stuff, but I'd probably just listen to early 80s metal if I was in the mood for this style of music.

These guys definitely aren't the only worthwhile band since the 90's just one of the very few worthwhile straight heavy metal bands sicne then. there have been tons of bands that are somewhat recent (or recently came to popularity) that i listen to but most are sub genres; Avant-Garde, Prog, Power metal, Speed and so on. Like i said, to me, they sound amazing
