Question Blues & Rock Bass Solo Examples?

Sign in to disble this ad
Please suggest some specific recordings of blues and rock bass solos to listen to as examples. Blues and rock soloing is new for me - I'm a lot more familiar with jazz-style soloing. Thanks.

Refried Boogie, Larry Taylor does some nice stuff with Canned Heat back in the 60s.

Get your hands on the first David Lee Roth solo album "Eat 'em and Smile", there's a couple of belters on there & some great 'conversations' between Sheehan & Steve Vai.

Try this as a sample: David Lee Roth - Shyboy - YouTube

The follow-up album "Skyscraper" is worth a listen too. Same killer line-up, but a different vibe - not so in your face.

Pete.
