...or I finally cracked up. Still not sure. I'd really love to know what you think before I put this on my myspace page for the world to see.

There's 2 songs - it's the one titled, uhh... Britney Spears.

Thanks.

I've been creativel stuck for a bunch of years and now I feel like things are starting to flow again, so I want to get them out. Finally found a writing method that works for me. Getting past the bumps in the road.

Good stuff, Joe Nerve! I like the second one a lot. Sounds a little early Bowie-ish. I might recommend bumping the bass a little more.

Thanks. Nothing magical. Just figured out a system that works for me, and learned what doesn't work as well. I never, for instance, wrote a song I liked where the lyrics came first. It may happen one day but I don't bother trying anymore. Once I've got bass and a beat, I scat sing and lyrics always evolve - for better or worse. The other thing that pushed me through my stuck point was realizing that I dont HAVE to be successful everytime I sit at the computer with a song, or put my bass or guitar in hand. Even if I put only a half an hour a day into it. Took me a week to come up with a guitar part for the britney spears song. The first day of trying to write guitar parts sucked bad, I felt physically ill. In the past I'd have given up on the song. 2 days later I came up with something I "kinda" liked, a day or two after that I was able to make it work for me. Blah, bla, bla...

I guess basically I learned that if I just stick with whatever I'm doing, eventually it will come - until it doesn't and then hopefully I'll just move onto the next song.

Joe, touring with Bumblefoot has damaged your DNA in ways that modern science is unable to repair...

I've come to expect nothing less than kick-assedness in tunes from Mr. Joe Nerve.
