Is Brother Popular in Australia?

Sign in to disble this ad
Just wondering. Is the band Brother (www.brothermusic.com) Popular Down Under? They're from there, and they seem to be virtually unknown in the U.S., where they have a very dedicated, albeit small, following. I've seen them three times, and they were great each time. Their venues in the States seem confined to Irish/cultural fesivals and small clubs.

(I originally posted this in the "Miscellaneous" forum, but thought maybe it applies to this forum as well.)

I am afraid I have never heard of them... I live in Adelaide, South Australia and play a bit on the local scene (folk/roots/rock). Where are they from?

Not sure where they're from. I think it's somewhere in New South Wales.

I'm not into the local music scene, at all...(musical hermit since the late 90's)...they certainly aren't in the Aussie news...but they sure look interesting...

looks like they enjoy playing gigs in eastern PA...

When I was in college in NY the early 1990s, I had a friend who was really into them. Largely because she's a huge Brian May fanatic, and well if you've heard Brian May's singing voice and you've heard Brother, you'd probably wonder if there was some kind of familial relation.

I do remember enjoying a lot of the stuff she copied onto cassette for me.

Oh yeah, weird thing, a couple times here at work I've found a printout regarding Brother concerts that someone either forgot on the printer or just hadn't picked up yet. Never found out who the other Brother fan is here in the office....
