Bruno Råberg- "Lifelines"

Couple months back, Bass Player gave this guy a couple of pages.
There was enough info in those pages to convince me to check out some of Råberg's recordings.
I picked up Chrysalis first...it is from 2004 & features a larger ensemble than what's on Råberg's latest, Lifelines (basically, 1 4-tet of URB, electric guitar, drums & sax).
Anyway, very cool compositions...sometimes a bit into the ECM/Euro Jazz trip. The electric guitar makes this a different thing, though.
And there's enough 'free' sounding moments to keep it interesting.

Another guy deserving more props that Bass Player recently covered is Marcus Shelby...but that's another thread.

...and yes, Bruce, I know these are acoustic bassists.
There are enough here with eclectic enough tastes to enjoy both Shelby & Råberg.
