Never hear much talk about Buddy's solo career. I have heard a few tracks (Them Changes being one song) and it seemed he had good writing skills. Most of the time they just talk about him being in Electric Flag or Band of Gypsys but never his solo work. He's a really great drummer with great beats. He also had a big influence on Miles DAvis' electric period with his playing in Band of Gypsys. He also played some guitar left handed style like Hendrix.
I always dug Buddy's bands, the bass was always happening. He did some cool work recently with Bill Laswell and Bootsy on the very cool but short lived label Black Arc.
