"Bye Bye Guitar" - My solo bass project

Sign in to disble this ad
I just finished recording the first song,
solo bass project i'm working on, it consists of just bass and drums, with a little bit of keyboards sometimes.

I'm 16 years old and i've been playing for 4 years, just opened up a myspace music page so here you go!
give it a listen and tell me what you think, i programmed the drums on EZ Drummer too (nothing flashy, just there to give the song a beat).

wrote this song for my girlfriend of 11 months who's moving out of the country for good, shes going to texas, which explains the song's name.

constructive criticism appreciated.

I liked it until the drums came in.

I like it, I will say the drums were kind of generic. They aren't bad, but they don't add much interest to the song.

Some very interesting harmonies, well composed.

the song was actually gonna be without drums, but i just added basic beats to hold it down, i wanted something simple and not flashy.

Really good! well mixed with the left and right lines, I like it, I would lower the drums, what program do you use? Very good for your age.

Thanks very much, the drums in this mix are actually lower than they were in the previous one. I used Adobe Audition 2.0 to record the bass, straight through the line in jack of my computer, I used my BP200 multi effect processor though. I used EZDrummer for the drums.
thanks

it's very nice, I like it a lot.

Why do you feel compelled to mention your age? Nobody really cares and frankly it's just bragging. You're talented for your age, I'll give you that, but find a little class to go with it.

Hmm, well its not what you think. I'm not bragging at all, i just wanted to use it to my advantage so that i'd get more recognition. I mean, isnt age the first thing thats mentioned when theres like a video of a young guy shredding on guitar or something? I'm not a brat or any of that, i work hard for my gear and i practice. I wanted to show that i can create music even though im young, thats all.

i never really meant to offend anyone, you're the first person who's pointed this out, and thank you for doing that. blah im embarassed now >.<
