Can anyone help me identify this player?

At practice the other night, my band (a...not great...noisy rock band) covered this as a laugh. We just all sort of knew it. I had a little trouble with the bass part (I was playing it off the top of my head), so when I got home I decided to practice it a bit. Well, this live version is amazing, and I find the bass part to be even tastier than the recorded version.

Breezin', George Benson

Anyway, can anyone identify who the bass player is? I'd like to see some more videos of him performing.

I'm sure it's one of those guys like "that's a young Bootsy Collins fool!" "That's Jamerson, moron!" but I really don't know who it is!

Thanks in advance.

Might be Stanley Banks. Root, 5ths, and octaves! Gotta love it!!

IIRC, it's Banks.
Once upon a time, Bass Player did an article on him...it's been a few years & I cannot recall the exact issue.

For some, Breezin' was the FIRST-EVER Smooth Jazz album...the album that spawned a lotta crap that more than a few nowadaze call "Jazz".

Guitar-meister Phil Upchurch also played bass on the Breezin' album..."Six To Four" for sure.
