Of my new recording? And in particular how the bass sounds.
Thanks, I'd really appreciate it if you took the time.
Cheers guys

*Semi-objective head on*

Your bass playing fits in really well with the rest of the music, and you play your part really well. I thought the mixture of drums and you bass during the intro kicked ass, as did the Latin sounding solo.

I really enjoyed the music as a whole, but whilst your vocalist seemed competent he just was not to my taste.

Was Dream theatre an influence at all, I'm sure I heard some musical similarities?

Overall an interesting and varied song, but it's not really my kind of music.

I wish you much success with the band.

Thanks man, some really useful stuff there. I'm completely paranoid that the offbeats in the intro are slightly out, but I keep secondguessing myself about it. Anyone got a definitive answer?

It may sound like your off due to the difference of tempo's between the bass and drums; it works though. The difference is not worth obsessing over, it's organic music afterall.

As for the actual bass sound I thought it got lost in the mix during the verses and choruses. That may be due to the frequency overlap with the guitars.

They sound fine to me, if they were off the intro would feel like something was wrong, and it doesn't, IMHO.

I'm sure others will be able to answer with more conviction.

the vocalist actually reminded me of mike-whatshisname from mr. bungle / faith no more.

To be fair, it is hard to give you a good impression of hte bass because at least here, the tune is extremely compressed and all I tend to hear are the artifacts. Maybe you can get a higher quality one up, but from what I can hear the bass fits.

I like the sound of "Calling Card" better. Stuck with Me needs to be remixed imo. The voices are thin and the bass is too dark. You seem like a fine player. I will listen to the other songs later. Be ready for a BassLand "add" request.
