Can I get an honest opinion on this song?

This is a song my old band wrote and recorded in 2004. It's one of my favorites, and I've been thinking of resurrecting it with my current band. What do you guys think of it?

I like it except for some of the lyrics. Some of the lines sound pretty...well...emo. Like the line about dying the hair lack and the part of the chorus where he says "smiling is so overrated." Other than that I really liked it! If it were me I would rework some of the lyrics and jam that thang.

drums and acoustic are too dry - a little room reverb would help a lot

When the lyrics first kick in, for just a second, I felt like this could just have slipped into a twisted version of "still loving you" by The Scorpions. Bet you didn't expect that!

Sounds like it was recorded well but I just don't like the song. It's dreary (which can be fine) and it doesn't really go anywhere. Feels monotone to me. Nothing wrong with the instrumentation but it's just not a song I am into.

It's one of those songs that I really enjoyed playing 5 or 6 years ago, and I wonder if I'm looking at it with more of a nostalgic view rather than a realistic view. I worry that it may slow our set down too much, so I see your point.
