It was far from "freakin awesome"..... His tone and timing was lacking to say the least.

i really think that his tone and technique need improvement, but i intend on learning that, that was cool...and yes, the part after the fingerstyle at the beginning was double thumb.

I thought it was quite good although the timining was definatly off, especially between different techniques.

+1, it could have lived without the thumbing techniques.

I guess the harmonic progression is Canon in D but like the melody isn't all there.

Sloppy. I'd rather have a simple arrangement played perfectly than an advanced one played like that. Every day of the year.

On one hand, it was sloppy.

On the other, he now has something memorized that is a nice workout. If he keeps practicing that piece, instead of moving onto something else, he'll get that sucker clean, and it will then sound really nice.

I wish I had a chart of that actually.

I too thought it was rather sloppy.. the execution needs a lot of polish and improvement. That being said though, he's sure got the "typewriter" down!!

What if it was the NAMM-bass-slapping-video-guy who played this? He'd probably make mince meat out of that little tune.
