Cedric (Mars Volta) does his own backing vocals?

I'm wondering if he does. You can hear in a lot of songs he sings and then overdubs it with him singing an octave higher. Is this true?

Most people do their own backing vocals. It's easier to get a consistent sound out of multiple overdubs of the same singer.
